Former U21 France international switches allegiances
Arsenal's Armand Traore has been named in Senegal's squad for their African Nations Cup qualifier against Democratic Republic of Congo.
The 21-year-old, who has previously represented France at Under 21 level, won his first cap for Senegal against Morocco in a friendly in August.
But he is now set to make his first competitive bow in the game on 3rd September.
Issiar Dia and Mamadou Niang have both been omitted from the squad as they were red carded in the last qualifier and are ineligible for this game.
Traore and his team-mates go into the fixture knowing that a win will secure top place in Group E and ensure their qualification for the 2012 finals.
Senegal missed out on the tournament in 2010 which was held in Angola and will not want to sit out Africa's showpiece competition for two consecutive tournaments.
