Warnock hopes to bring in more recruits before Bolton clash
QPR boss Neil Warnock says the club are still chasing up to three signings before the season gets underway.
The Hoops, who take on Bolton in their season opener on 13th August, have already signed former West Ham duo Danny Gabbidon and Kieron Dyer, as well as ex-Cardiff striker Jay Boothroyd.
The Premier League new boys have also had a
bid for DJ Campbell accepted by Blackpool, while Warnock has previously confirmed his
interest in signing Southampton winger Jason Puncheon.
Skysports.com also understands the club
failed with a move for Man City's Nedum Onuoha as Warnock looks to strengthen his backline.
Talking
Regarding his remaining transfer business, Warnock told
Sky Sports News: "Well we're talking to a number. We're hoping to bring in two, maybe three players in in the next week before the start of the season.
"We've gone slowly about our job but I think we've got some good players in and we're looking to bring two or three other good players in.
"We haven't gone silly and signed them straight away but we've been working hard behind the scenes.
"So it's very encouraging and the way we've been playing in Italy was very good against different types of opponents but you're going to get that in the Premier League, there's something different every week isn't there so I'm sure we can ruffle a few feathers."
He added: "In fairness I think I've got three very good players and if we can get the two or three on top of that, then I think we finish the business just at the right time before that first game of the season."
