Southend manager Paul Sturrock has completed the signings of Jack Midson and Antonio German on loan.

Midson, a 27-year-old midfielder, has signed from Oxford until December 29 while forward German, 18, has moved from QPR until December 4. Both players are eligible for the Shrimpers' FA Cup clash at Macclesfield. Meanwhile, QPR boss Neil Warnock has revealed that teams from the Championship were keen to take German on loan. He said: "There were a number of clubs interested in Antonio. "A couple from the Championship and one or two from League One too. "But I want him to get some serious game-time under his belt and he'll get that at Southend. "He will play five or six games for them and that will stand him in really good stead."
