Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are set to beat Swansea to the signing of Serbian defender Dusko Tosic.
Tosic has been looking for a new club after the Premier League blocked his move to cash-strapped Portsmouth last month.
The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Werder Bremen and had hoped to join Pompey only to see red tape block the move.
Swansea were hopeful of signing the full-back, but saw the deal held up by the Football Association.
That has allowed QPR to steal in and lure the left-back to Loftus Road ahead of former Rangers boss Paulo Sousa.
Tosic is expected to sign a deal until the end of the season at QPR and will help fill the void left by Gary Borrowdale's exit to Charlton.
