QPR coach takes positives out of FA Cup defeat to Chelsea

QPR coach Luigi De Canio was satisfied with his team's performance after the Championship side lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge. An unlucky own goal from Rangers goalkeeper Lee Camp on 29 minutes proved the difference between the teams to enable the Premier League side to progress into the fourth round. The goal came when a 20-yard Claudio Pizarro shot rebounded off Camp's right-hand upright and then hit his back before spinning over the line. Despite the unlucky fashion of his team's defeat, De Canio was not too down-hearted, believing the performance showed his side are improving. De Canio said: "Chelsea demonstrated they are a great team. They behaved well. I think we did what we were expected to - we were quite tidy on the pitch. We tried to take advantage of every possible chance that we had.

Satisfied

"I am very satisfied with the performance. We worked well and it just shows we are on course to grow in the way we want. "We put them under pressure and did our job well but unluckily we didn't win. "It is never nice to lose but Chelsea are the great champions they are and they were good at creating chances."
