Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that they are in talks with Martin Rowlands about a new deal.
The 27-year-old wide man's current contract expires at the end of the season, with the Championship outfit eager to retain his services.
Rowlands is established as a firm favourite with the Loftus Road faithful and Hoops boss Gary Waddock has now spoken of the club's intention to tie him to a deal until 2010.
"We are going through the process of sorting out a new contract and hopefully it will happen soon," said Waddock.
"Martin missed a large part of last season through injury, but he has started this season very well.
"He is a good footballer and is someone we feel will take this club forward."
