A hat-trick of headed goals sealed an incredible QPR comeback at Loftus Road.
David Connolly is unlikely to be popular in Leicester tonight after his needless sending off inspired QPR to win a game they had appeared certain to lose.
Leicester looked to be cruising to victory as they went in at the break 2-0 up thanks to goals from Jamie Scowcroft and Connolly.
But Connolly's second half sending off for two avoidable bookings changed the face of the game and QPR fought back for a deserved win.
Dan Shittu, making his first league start for QPR since January, was lively early on but it was Leicester who took the lead on 27 minutes with their first threatening attack of the game.
Connolly was played onside by the QPR defence and when he challenged with goal-keeper Chris Day, the ball broke loose for Scowcroft to tap into the open net.
Three minutes later the undercurrent of anger in the match became evident when QPR's Paul Furlong exchanged punches with Leicester's Martin Keown.
Referee Paul Robinson decided to show his discretion and punished both players with yellow cards.
Furlong then had a glorious chance to equalize when Nikos Dabizas failed to clear a Martin Rowlands cross, but the QPR striker failed to find the target.
His miss was then punished by a brilliant individual goal from David Connolly, who picked the ball up from twenty five yards out and curled in a marvellous right-foot effort to double the visitors' advantage.
After half time Connolly turned from hero to villain when he was sent off for two bookable offences.
He was shown a second yellow card for an alleged elbow on Georges Santos, after Robinson has earlier booked him for a first- half fracas with Marc Bircham.
QPR were visibly lifted by his premature departure and in the 58th minute they took advantage of their extra man.
Furlong picked out the overlapping Marcus Bignot, and the unmarked Lee Cook headed in his cross at the far post.
Ten minutes later, Furlong himself brought QPR level when he latched onto a Rowlands cross and guided the ball with his head into Kevin Pressman's bottom left-hand corner.
The comeback was complete in the final minute of time, Furlong heading Cook's cross past a despairing Pressman to seal an incredible victory.
