Coventry defender Aaron Phillips has signed a new contract which keeps him at the club until 2016.
The full-back, 20, progressed through the club's Academy and made his first-team debut as a late substitute in City's 3-2 defeat at Crawley on the opening day of the season. Phillips has since gone on to make 12 appearances this term, three of which were starts, and scored his first senior goal for the club to snatch a late 1-1 draw at midlands neighbours Wolves in mid-October. Coventry boss Steven Pressley told the club's official website: "Aaron is another young player that we think very highly of and we're delighted to extend his stay. "He's grabbed his opportunity with both hands and on a number of occasions this season he has shown what he is capable of and also the level of potential he has to become even better. "He has great energy and enthusiasm and has shown tremendous maturity and attitude for somebody of his age. Despite only making his debut this season he has displayed his ability and desire to come on and make an impact on games in both his tackling and his ambition to get high up the pitch - something which led to his first goal. "I'm really happy for the kid, he's the kind of young player that we want coming through our system and he fully deserves his new deal."
