Robins quashes Rovers rumours

Mark Robins remains the favourite for the managerial vacancy at Doncaster despite claiming the link is "absolute speculation".

Bookmaker Ladbrokes has suspended betting on Robins taking the reins at the Keepmoat Stadium after odds plummeted, coming in the wake of Dean Saunders' departure for Wolves. However, the Coventry boss, who also remains overwhelming 1/4 favourite with BetVictor, was asked about leading the bookies' running on Tuesday, ahead of City's Johnstone's Paint Trophy area semi-final against Preston. He said: "I didn't know. But I've got a game to concentrate on. There's nothing in that, it's all speculation, absolute speculation." Robins only took over at the Ricoh Arena in mid-September but he has led the Sky Blues to 13 wins from his 25 games in charge compared to just one win in 10 before his arrival. Coventry were struggling at the wrong end of the League One table upon his arrival but are now 12th, five points off the play-offs.
