Coventry's Development Squad claimed a 2-1 friendly success over Shanghai Under-20s on Monday.

Midfielder John Fleck, who was an unused substitute in Saturday's League One draw against Portsmouth, has not featured in any of City's last three games while striker Stephen Elliott is making his comeback from a toe injury. The latter opened the scoring from the penalty spot midway through the second half before academy player Courtney Baker-Richardson stepped off the bench to double Coventry's advantage. Shanghai, in the United Kingdom on tour, pulled a goal back in the closing stages but it was not enough. Coventry's side was captained by defender Jordan Willis while the likes of back-up goalkeeper Chris Dunn and striker Shaun Jeffers also started.
