Former Hull boss to have interview on Tuesday

Sky Sports sources understand Phil Brown is set to be interviewed by Coventry City over the vacant manager's job at the Ricoh Arena. The Sky Blues have been looking to appoint a new boss since parting company with Andy Thorn last month following a disappointing start to the season. Coventry development director Steve Waggott revealed over the weekend that a lengthy selection of applicants had been narrowed down to nine candidates, who would all be met face-to-face over the next few days. It is thought that Brown will hold talks with club bosses on Tuesday after putting himself in the reckoning for the post. Brown has been out of the game since leaving Preston North End last December, having previously had spells in charge of Derby County and Hull City. Caretaker Coventry boss Richard Shaw is keen to land the job permanently and will be interviewed, while Jim Magilton has also been linked. Oxford United boss Chris Wilder was the bookmakers' early favourite but U's chairman Ian Lenagan said last week he had yet to receive an approach from the Sky Blues.
