Striker set to finalise transfer after being sold by Bruce's vision

Nick Proschwitz's agent has confirmed that a deal has been agreed for the striker to join Hull City and the move should be finalised by the weekend once he gets the results of a medical. The Tigers have been in talks with the SC Paderborn striker over the past few days after flying him out to the club's training camp in Portugal. There had been a chance that he would remain in his native Germany as Greuther Furth were also linked with a bid, but the 25-year-old's representative says the opportunity to embark on a new challenge in England was too good to resist. Agent Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten says Hull manager Steve Bruce also played a key role in selling a move to the KC Stadium. "Nick is a professional footballer, and he makes his decisions on that basis," Baumgarten told the Hull Daily Mail.

New experience

"His decision was based on a mix of the footballing philosophies, ambition and vision for Hull City of manager Steve Bruce, and also the fact that it was a great offer for him in terms of the deal. "There was an offer on the table from the German first division, but he has decided to move on and to experience football in England. "He was impressed by Hull, and Steve Bruce, and he is very happy to be joining the club. "Having spoken to Steve Bruce, and then seen the offer Hull made, he told me Hull was the club for him." Bruce expects the transfer to be made official in the next few days, allowing Proschwitz to start preparing for the new Championship season. "We're just awaiting the results of Nick's medical," said Bruce. "We don't envisage a problem. Everything has been agreed and hopefully he'll be a Hull City player by the weekend."
