Ward lauds 'very strong' Owls

Colchester boss John Ward admitted the best team won after the 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

Second-half goals from Rob Jones and Reda Johnson secured a comfortable seventh consecutive home win for Wednesday and condemned the Us to a first defeat in five. "They're a very powerful team, a very strong team," Ward said. "We had a lot of the possession in the first half without really worrying their goalkeeper too much, but that's fine when you come to a club like this. "We got overpowered after 15 minutes of the second period. Too many set plays were given away and they come up with the artillery and they're a very strong team. "When they get ahead that lifts the crowd, that lifts their team and for the final 30 minutes we've been overpowered by a very good side that play to very good strengths that they've got. "We've been beaten by a better team and I think you've got to come and say that."
