Sanchez slams Bees defence

Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez was once again left to rue his side's defensive shortcomings after they lost 3-2 at Shrewsbury.

Goals from Matt Richards - his first for the club - and Terry Gornell allowed Shrewsbury to open up a comfortable two-goal half-time advantage. And, although Barnet fought back through Ricky Holmes and Mark Marshall, Lionel Ainsworth grabbed a winner for the Shrews late on to leave Sanchez upset again. "Conceding an average of two goals a game is atrocious. People are paid to defend and have to look at why those goals are going in," he said. "It was poor defensively and you can't give three goals away at these teams who are at the top of the table. "Having given them a two-goal start, I thought we completely outplayed them in the second half. "We got two goals and you're thinking we would settle for a draw and that it would be a decent result with the start we've had. But again, defensive frailties have allowed them to win the football match."
