Thorn moves for Canaries striker

Skysports.com understands Coventry are poised to sign Norwich striker Cody McDonald. Coventry are believed to have agreed a fee with Norwich for McDonald with the player travelling to the Ricoh Arena for talks and a medical. Peterborough have also made a bid for McDonald, but Coventry now appear in pole position to land the 25-year-old. McDonald impressed during a loan spell at Gillingham last season, scoring 25 goals in 41 League Two appearances and a number of clubs have been chasing his signature. He is well down the pecking order at Norwich and Canaries boss Paul Lambert is willing to let him move on. Coventry boss Andy Thorn is desperate to bolster his attacking options and he is hoping to strike a deal for McDonald before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.
