Forest boss keen to land duo

Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has made fresh intent to capture the services of Leon Best and Barry Robson. Calderwood has made new bids for the pair in the hope of adding to his promotion-chasing squad before the Thursday evening deadline. An offer of around £1million is understood to have been tabled for Dundee United midfield Robson - however Forest may face tough competition from Celtic who are also rumoured to be interested in the 29-year-old.

Hoping

"There has been a bid for Robson, I don't know the state of play exactly, but it went in yesterday and we sit and wait on the outcome of that," Calderwood told the Nottingham Evening Post. "We will try for one or two today, but it's [the transfer deadline] getting quite close." Calderwood has also been hoping to bring Coventry striker Best to the City Ground during the January window, and the Scotsman is hoping a bid of £1.2million will break the Sky Blues boardroom's resolve. "There is a meeting between us and Coventry today to discuss Leon," he said. "The situation is promising and we will continue to try and get something done."
