Dowie hands deals to young duo

Coventry City have tabled new one-year deals to Liam Davis and Ben Turner.

Coventry City have tabled new one-year deals to youngsters Liam Davis and Ben Turner.

Both players have appeared for the Coventry first team this season, and also enjoyed loan spells at Peterborough at the tail end of 2006.

Now Sky Blues boss Iain Dowie is looking for the promising pair to push-on next season and hone their skills at the Ricoh Arena.

"We will keep Liam on. He has got everything there. He is blisteringly quick for 6ft 1in, he has a great left foot and I think there is a footballer in there," said Dowie.

"We need natural wingers and Liam is in my thoughts.

"Ben has also got great pace for his size and maybe we will have a look at him before the end of the season as well.

"I like him around the place. He is a good kid and we just need to make sure he spends a lot of time with the football because he has got the raw attributes but needs to hone his defensive side and his technical ability."
