Livingston have moved to sign Coventry striker Graham Barrett on loan.

The 24-year-old had a clutch of offers on the table, with the pull of Almondvale proving the strongest.

The Irishman has initially moved on loan, but Livi manager Paul Lambert has suggested the deal could be made permanent later in the campaign.

"We are very pleased to persuade Graham to join us, initially on loan. He has an excellent pedigree and I expect him to settle into Scottish football quickly," said Lambert.

"We have been looking for a striker throughout the summer. Paul Dalglish was an added bonus and I am confident that the team will benefit from both him and Graham being available to us.

"We have tracked Graham for a while and made our move during the last few days."

Lambert, meanwhile, has allowed striker Graeme Dorrans to join Partick on loan, while Scott McLaughlin has moved to Morton on a free transfer.

The Sky Blues, meanwhile, have released keeper Richard Brush after he failed to prove himself worthy of a long-term deal.
