Coventry City have allowed Scott Shearer to return to Rushden & Diamonds on a month's loan.

The goalkeeper initially joined the League Two club in February and made three appearances during his first spell at Nene Park.

But his stay with Rushden was abruptly cut short when Coventry lost the services of Luke Steele and Ian Bennett.

Shearer played in The Sky Blues' 3-2 victory at Watford last week but Micky Adams has Steele and Bennett available again this weekend.

That has enabled Adams to sanction Shearer's return to Rushden, with the shot-stopper signing a fresh one-month deal.

He will go straight into the Rushden squad for Saturday's derby against local rivals Northampton Town.
