COVENTRY CITY have handed two trialists deals at the club.

The Sky Blues - who are looking to cut costs in the summer - took the opportunity to look at both Michael Briscoe and Michael Doyle, and were impressed with what they saw.

Manager Gary McAllister (pictured) has handed 19-year-old Briscoe a one-year deal, and the young full back will be keen to make the breakthrough into the first team and earn a longer term contract.

21-year-old Doyle made even more of an impression and has already signed a pre-contract agreement that will see him arrive in the summer.

Doyle has been given a two-year contract, and the Irish Under-21 player will hope to get his career back on track after leaving Celtic.
