COVENTRY CITY have given a trial to Bastia keeper Fabien Audard as the club look to replace Celtic-bound Magnus Hedman.

Sky Blues manager Gary McAllister (pictured) has accepted a bid for Hedman and appears to have earmarked who he would like to replace the Swedish international.

The 24-year-old is third choice at The Armand-Cesari-Furiani, having played in only one match for the club last season, and is keen to leave in a bid to gain regular first team football.

McAllister's assistant Eric Black, formerly of Motherwell, recommended the star after being impressed by Audard whilst the 26-year-old was on trial with The Well earlier this year.

Hedman is currently holding talks with The Bhoys over a move to Parkhead, and is expected to complete his move to the Scottish champions within the next 48 hours.
