Norwich are investigating an allegation of homophobic abuse during their Championship game with Birmingham City.

The Norfolk club confirmed on Monday afternoon that they were looking into claims from one Canaries fan that another directed abuse during half-time of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Birmingham at Carrow Road.

Norwich say any fan found guilty of discrimation will be banned from their ground.

A statement on the club's official website read: "The club can confirm we are investigating an allegation of homophobic abuse by a home supporter at half-time during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at Carrow Road.

"Another City fan has made a complaint to Kick It Out and the club using our Safeguarding reporting hotline, set up to enable fans to report any incidents of discriminatory, abusive or otherwise unacceptable behaviour they witness during matches.

"Norfolk Police are also looking into the matter.

"Fans are reminded the club has a zero-tolerance stance on all forms of discrimination and anyone found guilty of discrimination will be banned from Carrow Road."
