Chris Hughton has hailed Norwich's capture of Luciano Becchio and commented on his pursuit of Celtic's Gary Hooper.
The Canaries spent much of the January transfer window tracking striking talent, and were able to acquire Becchio from Leeds United - in a deal which saw Steve Morison head in the opposite direction.
Becchio arrives with a reputation as a one of the most consistent goal-getters in the Championship and Hughton is convinced he can produce the goods at a Premier League level.
He said: "Becchio is a player in good form this season, which is important.
"You want someone who is going to hit the ground running and give us something, whether it is starting or on the bench."
Hughton was, however, thwarted in his efforts to bring Hooper back to English football, with four bids knocked back by Celtic.
He added: "We did put bids in and they were substantial bids, certainly by the levels of this football club.
"All the conversations we had with Celtic were good, amicable conversations, but it was very clear he is a player who they had a big valuation of and did not want to lose."
