Midfielder continues to rant at perceived injustice
Queens Park Rangers are proceeding with a formal appeal to the Football Association regarding Joey Barton's red card against Norwich on Monday.
The QPR captain was dismissed in the first half of his club's defeat at Loftus Road after an incident involving Bradley Johnson.
Barton and manager Neil Warnock pulled no punches in their assessment of the Norwich player in the wake of the match and an apparent head-butt, branding him a 'cheat'.
And former Newcastle midfielder Barton has continued to rant on twitter about what he perceives as a mass injustice at the hands of referee Neil Swarbrick and Johnson.
Barton said: "I wonder how long it is before a football club sues a referee for making a bad decision? Theres too much at stake to not have technology.
"Or a player sues another player for playacting. Which is basically a lie and that is actionable. Whats the difference?
"Someone has to set the precedent to stop the game from being ruined, maybe i'll be the 1st one. Can players sue referree's?" (sic).
QPR announced their decision to appeal against the red card in a statement on their official website and say they will be making no further comment.
