Swedish striker enjoyed his three seasons at the Reebok Stadium

Johan Elmander believes it is the right time to take on a new challenge following his decision to leave Bolton Wanderers. The Sweden international is quitting the Trotters on a free transfer and he is expected to join Turkish giants Galatasaray. He scored 22 goals in 108 appearances for Bolton after arriving from Toulouse in 2008 and particularly impressed during the first half of this season. The 29-year-old has enjoyed his time at the Reebok Stadium and is now looking forward to the next stage of his career.

Hunger

"I have had three good years at Bolton, especially the last 18 months, but the time is right for a new challenge," Elmander told the club's official website. "I'm going to miss the place, particularly the lads who I have played with. The staff are all very friendly and that's what I have enjoyed the most. "The manager is one of the best that I have worked with and he helped reignite my hunger for the game. "I found it tough at the beginning but I got used to English football after a couple of months. I've really enjoyed playing in the Premier League and I'm very satisfied to say that I have played in what I think is the best league in the world. "I'm proud to say that I have played more games as a striker in the Premier League than any other Swedish player."
