Skysports.com understands Norwich are closing in on the signing of Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson.
Norwich have been chasing the 23-year-old striker all summer and have had a previous bid rejected for the Canada international.
But now Norwich thought to be close to striking a deal with Gillingham as they are prepared to offer a player on loan, as well as a fee, to help persuade Gillingham to do business in parting with their prized asset.
Norwich could offer Gillingham one of their forwards to help fill the void left by Jackson's proposed departure to Carrow Road.
Canaries boss Paul Lambert is an admirer of Jackson and his signing would be a welcome boost to the Championship new boys.
