Simpson delighted to bring in experienced striker

Shrewsbury Town have finalised the signing of Norwich City's veteran striker Jamie Cureton on loan until the end of the season. Cureton has made just eight appearances for Norwich this term and has not featured in Paul Lambert's first team for over three months. He has been linked with several clubs and Shrews boss Paul Simpson revealed his interest in landing the 34-year-old last week. Simpson has now secured Cureton's signature and is hoping the forward can lend his experience to the club's bid for promotion from League Two. "I'm delighted that Jamie has agreed to join us on loan until the end of the season," Simpson told the club's official website. "He has a goalscoring record that is as good as anyone playing in English football today. "Hopefully he will add something a little different to our squad during this important run-in to the end of the season."
