Norwich City boss Bryan Gunn fears midfielder Wes Hoolahan could leave Carrow Road before the close of the transfer window.
Hoolahan enjoyed an impressive debut season with the Canaries after joining from Blackpool and had been tipped to move on following the club's relegation to League One.
The Canaries have not received any offers for the 27-year-old and Gunn is not keen to encourage any interest in the Irishman.
However, after Hoolahan caught the eye in Saturday's pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic, Gunn is aware clubs higher up the ladder could make a move.
"Yes, I've got worries about hanging on to him," said Gunn in the Norwich Evening News.
"Wes is a quality player, but his commitment has been to Norwich and I think you've seen throughout pre-season that any time he's taken the pitch he's performed well. I hope he'll continue to do that for Norwich.
"We understand that money talks. Up until now there's not been any interest, so that's down to other clubs to create that. But certainly we won't be encouraging it."
