Bryan Gunn has admitted to being in regular contact with former fans' favourite Darren Huckerby.

Gunn would be happy to bring winger back to Carrow Road

Norwich boss Bryan Gunn has admitted to being in regular contact with former fans' favourite Darren Huckerby. That news has led to rumours suggesting the experienced winger could be heading back to Carrow Road in the near future. Huckerby spent five years with the Canaries between 2003 and 2008 before heading off to America to join MLS outfit San Jose Earthquakes. He has enjoyed his time in the States, and was named Newcomer of the Year last season despite having missed the start of the campaign. His contract is only set to run until the end of the current MLS season, in November, and it remains unclear what the future will hold for him past that point.

Excited

Gunn has admitted that he would welcome Huckerby back at Norwich, but admits that he has made no approach to the 32-year-old as yet. "Where I am with Hucks is that Hucks and I keep in touch and he's wishing me all the best, and he's supporting us from afar," Gunn told The Pink'un. "I do know his contract situation is for another season, but when that season finishes in the US, I'm not entirely sure. "Hucks is a player who I was excited about when he came to this club because I was part of the sponsorship team at the time and he certainly made an impression during his time here. "He had an unfortunate situation under the previous management and he took the opportunity to go to the States, so I'll continue to keep in touch with Hucks."
