Two players have joined St Mirren as Simon Lappin looks set to quit the club.
Clyde duo Eddie Malone and Stephen O'Donnell have sealed their transfers to St Mirren as midfielder Simon Lappin looks set to quit the club for Norwich.
Deals for Malone and O'Donnell were eventually agreed after St Mirren's initial approaches were rejected, and chairman Stuart Gilmour was pleased to finally get his men as the club gears up for more reinforcements.
"We're delighted to get the guys in as we've been after them for some time," he told the Daily Record. "We are hopeful there will be more additions before the transfer deadline expires."
But midfielder Lappin looks set to leave after he travelled to hold talks with Norwich manager Peter Grant after having rejected the Championship side's first offer.
The midfielder watched the Canaries 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Carrow Road, with talks due to take place afterwards.
St Mirren had previously stated that they would need a 'big' fee were they to sell Lappin, who remains under contract.
Meanwhile, Gilmour has denied that their striker John Sutton has arranged to join Falkirk next season on a pre-contract agreement.
"I've spoken to John's agent and he says no contact has been made," added Gilmour. "He hasn't signed and isn't about to sign any agreement with Falkirk."
