Bury have handed a trial to Norwich goalkeeper Joe Lewis as they look to cover for the departing Kasper Schmeichel.
Schmeichel will return to Manchester City after Bury's game with Swindon on November 25, as he comes to the end of his three-month loan.
With Alan Fettis still sidelined with a broken arm, Shakers boss Chris Casper is looking to act quickly to ensure he has enough options.
19-year-old Lewis has been brought in to train with the rest of the squad for a few days, and will play in Bury's reserve game against Blackburn on Wednesday.
If Lewis impresses, Casper could decide to bring him in on loan.
He would then compete with Aaron Grundy for a place in the side.
