Bristol City have insisted Steve Brooker is not for sale following reported interest from Norwich City.
The Canaries have been reportedly sniffing around Brooker, although The Robins have not heard from the East Anglian outfit.
City chairman Steve Lansdown has stated the club do not have to sell and that Brooker is a key member of their squad.
"I've not heard from Norwich, nor has Gary Johnson or Steve's agent," explained Lansdown.
"We don't need to sell - whereas last year with Leroy Lita we did have to - and I have no intention of doing it.
"Steve is a key part of our squad, and as far as I'm concerned he'll be leading the line next season."
Meanwhile, right back Bradley Orr is set to pen a fresh two-year deal with the Ashton Gate club next week.
