Micky Adams has warned Norwich City that Gary McSheffrey is not for sale.

The Coventry striker recently crossed Nigel Worthington's radar as he contemplates the prospect of losing number one striker Dean Ashton to Manchester City.

But Adams says that he has plans of his own and the 23-year-old is very much a part of them.

‚Ç£We've got big plans for the future,‚Ç¥ he told The Pink 'Un.

"This club is hoping to get back into The Premiership, but we're not going to be able to do that if we start selling our best players.

"And certainly, as far as I'm concerned, Gary is not for sale."

Meanwhile, Adams has also been lamenting the loss of emerging midfield talent Isaac Osbourne to a serious knee injury.

"It is a massive injury," he told the club's official website. "Isaac has ruptured his lateral knee ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.

"But he is young enough to recover with modern day surgery, but unfortunately for us we won't see him again this season."
