Eastwood, who joined from Conference side Grays Athletic last season, has scored seven goals as The Shrimpers have stormed to the top of League One, and they will be keen to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
Worthington has followed Eastwood's progress closely since he came out of non-league football.
"You always look at players, you are always on the lookout for good players," Worthington said.
"Eastwood is a player who has done particularly well coming out of non-league and he has got his fair share of goals, so it is always interesting to watch somebody rise from that level and see how far he can go," he added.
Lee Trundle, who has notched 14 goals for Swansea this season, is another name that has been mentioned as a possible target in January.
Worthington is desperate to add players to his injury-ravaged squad but his bid to bring in an unnamed player on loan, believed to be Linvoy Primus, has proved difficult.
"There is a situation that has dragged on a few weeks which I can't close the door on just yet, but I will keep pushing so I have got to be patient and persistent.
"The player can play in a couple of positions and the other football club is just holding up through injuries themselves. He is from the top league. He will be all right if we can get him."
