CANARIES SEAL NIELSEN DEAL

NORWICH CITY have sealed a permanent move for David Nielsen, but the Danish striker will miss out on the big FA Cup tie with Chelsea at Carrow Road.

Although the Wimbledon hit-man has been on loan in Norfolk, and scored against his parent club during his loan stint, he is ineligible for the clash with Claudio Ranieri's Premiership big-guns, although he is available for the crunch Nationwide League encounter with table-topping Manchester City.

After protracted negotiations, the in-form forward completed a £200,000 permanent move from Selhurst Park.

"By signing a two-and-a-half year deal, David has shown his commitment to the club," Canaries boss Nigel Worthington told the official Norwich City website.

"I'm very pleased the deal has gone through.

"We now have plenty of healthy competition for places in our forward line, and that's got to be good news for the club."
