BARRY FRY has laughed off reports that he has turned down an £800,000 bid from Norwich City for striker Leon McKenzie.

The gregarious Posh manager says that the stories are symptomatic of what is termed by many figures within the game as football's 'silly-season'.

"We are not in the business of selling our best players, we want to keep them to make a concerted effort on reaching the play-offs next season," said Fry.

"There is nothing to say. It is silly season, and you get all sorts of silly rumours.

"I have not had any enquiries about Leon, Jason Lee or Mark Tyler for that matter."

The 23-year-old sensation has notched 21 league goals in just 44 appearances for United after joining them from Fulham.
