Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for October, with Clarets striker Danny Ings picking up the player award.

It is the second month in succession that Dyche, whose side lead Leicester by one point at the top of the table, has won the award.

A perfect October for Burnley saw them win four games, conceding just one goal.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel and said: "Sean Dyche deservedly wins this award for the second consecutive month.

"The 100% record in October rightly puts his side top of the Sky Bet Championship."

Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Sean fully deserves his second Sky Bet Manager of the Month award in succession.

"The 2-0 victory over QPR showed how far his side have come. They should now be considered serious title challengers."

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: "It was a great month for Burnley, who won every game.

"Home wins over promotion hopefuls Queens Park Rangers and Reading were sandwiched by great away results at Doncaster and Ipswich.

"The Clarets' bandwagon should roll into the winter months."

The League sponsors make Dyche a 12/1 shot to win the award for the third month running, while his Burnley side are 16/1 to win there next three games against Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield.

"The 2-0 victory over QPR showed how far Burnley have come. They should now be considered serious title challengers."

Burnley striker Ings scoops the player gong after having a month to remember. He made his England Under-21 debut, and got both goals in the 2-0 win against top-of-the-table rivals Queens Park Rangers.

Dyche said: "Danny has a desire to learn and improve, and is making very good strides on his journey into developing into a fine young player.

"In my opinion, he is fully deserving of this award."

Goodman said: "It's always nice to see players get rewards for their efforts.

"Danny Ings' fantastic start to the season has seen him earn his first call up for England Under-21s.

"He has struck up a formidable partnership with Sam Vokes, and is sitting on nine goals for the season - which is a terrific effort so far."

Sky Bet make Ings a 16/1 shot to score a hat-trick in November,
