Skysports.com understands Burnley have made a bid for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant.
Burnley have been chasing a new goalkeeper all summer and they have set their sights on highly-rated Grant.
The Clarets had lined up a loan deal for Newcastle shot-stopper Fraser Forster, but the move was held up on the Magpies' side as they considered loaning out the promising keeper for another season.
As a result Burnley have turned their attentions to Grant and are hoping to tie up a deal for the 27-year-old.
Talks are ongoing between both clubs as they look to thrash out a fee for Grant.
Wednesday have been facing a fight to keep hold of Grant following their relegation from the Championship last season with the likes of West Brom and Celtic credited with an interest in his services.
Burnley boss Brian Laws is a big admirer of Grant having worked with him during his time in charge at Hillsborough and he is hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring him to Turf Moor.
