Northern Ireland stopper commits to Burnley

Burnley have been boosted by the news that defender Michael Duff has signed a new two-year deal. The Northern Ireland international has just completed six seasons with the Clarets after joining from Cheltenham in 2004. The 31-year-old started 10 Premier League games last season and made his 200th appearance for the club in April. Duff's deal had been due to expire this summer, but he will now spend the next two seasons at Turf Moor. After a slow start to the campaign, Duff made his first Premier League appearance in December and continued to feature under Brian Laws. He is due to report back with the rest of the squad on 1st July to prepare for life in the second tier after one season in the top flight.
