Irishman arrives at Deepdale from Blackburn in permanent deal

Preston North End have completed the signing of winger Keith Treacy from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee. As revealed by skysports.com earlier on deadline day, Preston were hoping to land the highly-rated winger. The 21-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Championship outfit with an option for a third year available. The Irishman spent the first half of the season on loan with Sheffield United but now becomes Darren Ferguson's player at Deepdale. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international made just 10 starts and 12 substitute appearances in four years with Blackburn and struggled to break into the squad under Sam Allardyce. Preston's home match with Barnsley on Tuesday will come too soon for the player, but he could feature against Swansea at the weekend.
