Burnley midfielder John Spicer is currently deciding whether to join Crewe Alexandra on a one-month loan deal.
The former Arsenal trainee has made just two appearances this season at Turf Moor and has now been offered a better chance of first team football by Dario Gradi.
The two clubs have agreed over the terms of a loan and now the proposition has been put to Spicer, with the player set to decide in the coming days.
"We spoke to Crewe on Friday morning and said we would allow John to go there on a one-month loan," said Burnley boss Steve Cotterill to the club's official website.
"John now wants to think about it over the weekend."
Gradi has revealed he is keen to bring Spicer in as extra firepower ahead of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern final clash with Doncaster.
"We will look to bring him in on a month if we can," confirmed Gradi.
"We just want to check on his availability for the Jonhstone's Paint Trophy games, because we would need him in those. He would give us an extra option in that area."
