Burnley boss Steve Cotterill fears Wayne Thomas could miss the rest of the season through injury.

Thomas was forced off with a knee injury during Burnley's 2-1 defeat to Reading on Monday.

Cotterill fears that Thomas may have sustained cruciate ligament damage after a collision with Glen Little.

"Reading's Glen Little fell on him but Reading were given the free-kick," said Cotterill.

"Wayne had to come off and he has had a scan.

"If it's what we think it is then it's a cruciate ligament injury that could keep him out for the season."

Some good news for The Clarets is that defender Jon Harley has sealed his switch from Championship rivals Sheffield United.

The former Chelsea and Fulham man joins the Turf Moor outfit in a deal worth upwards of £150,000.
