Patrick Kisnorbo: Leeds defender has initially signed for Ipswich until the end of the month
Ipswich have signed defender Patrick Kisnorbo on a month-long loan deal from Championship rivals Leeds.
The 31-year-old Australian is manager Mick McCarthy's first capture of the January transfer window and has already taken part in a training session with his new team-mates.
Kisnorbo, who has enjoyed spells at Hearts and Leicester, has made 57 appearances at Leeds since arriving at Elland Road in 2009.
But he has only featured once under Neil Warnock this season, in the 3-0 Capital One Cup defeat of Oxford in August.
A statement on the official Ipswich Town website read: "Patrick will wear the number six shirt during his time at Portman Road and has been given clearance to feature against Aston Villa in the FA Cup this weekend.
"The defender will be contracted to Blues until January 29th."
Leeds are currently facing a virus epidemic, and assistant manager Mick Jones confirmed that Warnock has stayed away training after being struck down by the bug.
Jones said: "It's not good, there's no point in hiding from it. We all know about it sweeping around the country.
"There was a bit before Christmas and it seemed to ease off, but the lads we sent home last week were quite ill and the manager is as well now."
