Ipswich have handed a week-long trial to former Tottenham and Portsmouth defender Ricardo Rocha
The 33-year-old trained with Town on Monday although manager Paul Jewell would not be drawn on whether the Portugal international is likely to be handed a contract at Portman Road.
"Ricardo is here for the week and we will take it from there," was all Jewell told the club's website.
Rocha began his professional career with Braga before joining Lisbon giants Benfica in 2002, winning the Portuguese league in 2005.
He joined Spurs in a £3m deal in 2007 but his first-team chances were limited at White Hart Lane and after a year-long loan with Belgian club Standard Liege, he joined Portsmouth in 2010.
Rocha went on to make 76 appearances for Pompey before becoming a free agent at the end of last season when the club were relegated to League One.
