Paddy Kenny has set his sights on helping Leeds to win promotion after securing his move to Elland Road.
The goalkeeper completed his switch from Queens Park Rangers to Leeds earlier this week, signing a three-year deal with the Championship outfit.
Kenny admits once he knew of Leeds' interest he was keen to move to Elland Road and he is hopeful he can play his part in a bid for promotion back to the Premier League.
"As soon as I had the chance to come here I think everybody knows how big a club it is and it's got potential and I think it should be back in the Premier League," he told
Sky Sports News.
"It's massive, so hopefully I can play a part in that and get them back to where they belong."
The move sees Kenny link up with Neil Warnock for a fourth time and the keeper admits the manager played a big part in his decision to swap the Premier League for the Championship.
"Obviously it is well documented it is the fourth time he [Warnock] has signed me and he was a big reason why I wanted to come here," added Kenny.
"I think he knows what he gets from me and obviously I know what I get him from him so we seem to work well together."
Surprised
Warnock is thrilled to be reunited with Kenny and admits he was surprised to land him.
"I am so pleased that we have been able to do it, I am surprised, but I am delighted to get him," said Warnock.
"You know what I think about him, I think he is one of the best keepers, not just in the Premier League I think he is one of the best so I am delighted.
"I think when you look at goalkeepers you look at the mistakes, how many mistakes do they make in a season.
"I am not saying he is immune [to mistakes], but overall top keepers make the fewest mistakes and over the years he has been a revelation everywhere I have taken him he has taken the challenge on board."
