Defender desperate for first-team comeback

Wolves defender Ronald Zubar hopes to make his return to Premier League action against West Brom this weekend. The 26-year-old has not played for the club since February after first undergoing back surgery and then suffering a groin injury during his rehabilitation. The Frenchman has played in two reserve games in recent weeks and is also set to play for Wolves' second string against Aston Villa at Molineux on Tuesday. Zubar is hoping that will be enough to prove to manager Mick McCarthy that he is ready for a first-team return. "My season starts now. I want to do what I can to help the team because the injury hasn't helped anyone," Zubar told the club's official website. "I want to try and be involved for the rest of the season and be injury free. I'm just looking forward to trying to play a part. "It's been a frustrating time coming back from a bad injury and then picking up a groin injury." Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Jody Craddock will also continue their comebacks from injury against Villa on Tuesday. Ebanks-Blake has not played since August due to a knee injury while Craddock has missed the last month with hamstring and groin problems.
