Wrexham have signed Scott Barron on a month's loan from Ipswich Town.

Barron has not featured under Jim Magilton at Portman Road this season and has been allowed to link up with the League Two strugglers.

The versatile left-sider is relishing the chance of regular football during his initial month at The Racecourse Ground.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge," Barron told the club's official website.

"Everyone I have talked to has nothing but good words to say about the club and is surprised by their position in the league.

"If I can help and play my part in a revival of fortunes, then I will be very happy to do so."

Providing the paperwork is completed in time, Barron could feature against Peterborough United on Saturday, with manager Brian Carey happy with his new recruit.

The Wrexham boss said: "He has some experience of playing on a regular basis at Championship level and we have received very positive reports from a number of people we have spoken to about him.

"The player is keen to join us and is looking forward to being involved on a regular basis."

Meanwhile, Ipswich academy player Kieron Leabon is training with Wrexham with a view to signing a contract.
