Gary Roberts has accepted a three-and-a-half year contract to stay at Ipswich Town.
The winger joined Ipswich on loan from Accrington Stanley in October, with a view to a permanent deal.
He has impressed in his 13 Championship appearances and has now agreed to commit his future to the club until 2010.
Ipswich have not disclosed the fee Accrington will receive for Roberts, but Town boss Jim Magilton is ecstatic to be keeping the 22-year-old.
"We are delighted that Gary is joining us," Magilton told the club's official website.
"We watched him several times, but it was a calculated gamble when we brought him here initially.
"It was a big step up for him, but we were confident that he had all the attributes to take that step in his stride.
"The lad's improving his all-round game and I can only see him getting better and I'm sure he will prove to be a good signing for Ipswich Town."
