Accrington Stanley have bolstered their attacking options with the capture of winger Shaun Whalley.
The 20-year-old has initially joined the League Two outfit on loan from Witton Albion until the end of the season.
However, Accrington have a deal in place should they wish the make Whalley's switch permanent next summer.
Whalley began his career with Chester City before going on to play for Runcorn FC and Witton Albion.
Accrington boss John Coleman had been looking for reinforcements following Gary Roberts' loan switch to Ipswich Town.
The likelihood of Ipswich keeping Roberts' services have increased after he received praise from boss Jim Magilton.
"I am very pleased with Gary," said Magilton. "He has shown up well in training where he has been very impressive, and plays with no fear.
"He is a typical scouser and is full of life, and if we can make his signing permanent when the transfer window opens then we will."
