Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has decided against pursuing on-loan midfielder Jimmy Juan.
Juan has played 24 times for the Tractor Boys this term, but his inconsistency has put the Ipswich boss off trying to bring him in on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old has a year remaining on his current deal with Monaco and Royle is expected to look elsewhere for an experienced midfielder.
"It's been a hard decision but we've decided not to continue our interest in Jimmy coming in," Royle told the club's official website.
"At his best, he did very well for us. Not at his best he was promising but not yet ready for a regular place in the team and that's what made up my mind.
"We need now, we don't need tomorrow."
Meanwhile, defender Fabian Wilnis hopes to extend his stay at Portman Road beyond the end of the season.
Wilnis has been in excellent form at the back this campaign and has been voted the supporters' player of the year.
That form has brought Royle to the decision that he no longer requires Spanish defender Sito at the club.
Sito has been out since the end of last year because of injury and Royle has told the 25-year-old he is available for transfer.
